My visits to two doctors yesterday came to a good end--more or less. BP was normal both times--at the GYN in the morning and at the GP in the afternoon. All exams proved to be normal--more or less. The one exception was a tender spot in my left breast (took me a little by surprise) so Dr. Nieamoth, GYN, ordered a diagnostic mammogram and an ultrasound, scheduled for May 1. She detected dense tissue, not a lump, and didn't want to wait until the annual exam in October to have it examined. I'm grateful for that decision. My left breast has had strange sensations in it and on the skin for several months but the oncologist didn't think it was anything of concern. But now I am glad to have the second opinion and the extra exams.
Dr. Chambers, GP, decided I needed a pneumonia vaccination (because I'm over 60) to which I sort of reluctantly gave consent. Then he gave me information about the shingles vaccination which I postponed for another time, if I decide to get it at all. I told him this felt almost like being 6 years old again and getting all the vaccinations before school started. (I don't even know if kids still have to do that anymore or not.)

The vaccines that we have to get for the kids are BRUTAL. Sometimes three or four at a time and that's just for infants. Hm... Don't get me started.
ReplyDeleteI know, I know. But there were also 6 year old pre-school vaccines--back in the day--60 years ago, I guess it is.
ReplyDeleteaccording to the FDA there's no connection between the childhood vaccines and autism, but I am not so sure, because too many people doing the research had too much vested interest by the people doing or funding the research.
ReplyDeleteBut I still thing things like the polio vaccine and the smallpox vaccine are good things. ...But not chickenpox.
