Grandparents Camp

Our 8 grandchildren all live east of the Mississippi River--and we, of course, live in Missouri. Our oldest is 15 years old and our youngest was born last December. (I've not yet seen him.) Lord willing, Thomas and I will have 7 of the 8 with us during the first week in August. (The baby stays at home, but his 2 year old sister will be with us.) We will have 5 girls and 2 boys: 15, 13, 11, 10, 8, 6, & 2 yrs old.

WE WILL BE IN ONE OF THE HOUSES AT A RETREAT CENTER in KY.
Main Floor: Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Sittting Room, Screened porch overlooking forest.
Ground Floor: two rooms, each w/4-single beds, 2-bathrooms w/showers
Upstairs: 4 bedrooms 1 room w/4-single beds & bathroom; 2 rooms w/2 single beds; 1 room w/3 single beds; bathroom in hall.

WE WILL HAVE:
Separate rooms for boys & girls upstairs
Bedroom for Mamaw, PopPop, and The Youngest One on ground floor
A fully furnished kitchen (toaster, oven, microwave, etc.)
A fire pit for a campfire with picnic table (hot dogs, marshmallows, banana schfilli, etc)
Playground with sandbox (Note to older kids: Be glad for The Youngest One.)
Trails in the woods for walking and exploring
Ping Pong table & Horseshoes to play, also volleyball & basketball


FURNISHED FOR US: sheets, bath towels & wash cloths, kitchen towels, etc.

PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING:
Swim suit, beach towel--in case we go somewhere to swim (still working out details)
Long pants & tennis shoes for walking in woods
Bug spray (if you need something different from "Off "with deet)
Sand toys for sand box

POSSIBLE OVERVIEW:
MONDAY afternoon arrive; settle in; do a little exploring; supper team fixes supper; clean-up team cleans up.
TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY activities at the retreat center and/or an outing to a nearby town.
THURSDAY leave CleftRock before noon.

Breakfast & Clean up
Make beds

Lunch & Clean up
Rest--Nap--Alone time (quiet time so Young One can nap)
PM Activity
Snack
Free time

Supper & Clean up
Evening inside Activity (games, books, etc.)
