Noah: The Movie

MOVIE IN A NUTSHELL.  The Creator made all things good.  The brokenness of the world came through human choices.  God chose Noah to work with God to cleanse the earth.

LIBERTIES TAKEN.  In some translations of Genesis 6:4 (KJV) we read that there were giants in the earth. Liberties were taken in depicting the giants.  Liberties were taken in the interpretation of who entered the ark and perhaps of how long they were in the ark (but that would take math and detailed reading of Genesis 7-8 for me to say for sure).

CLEARLY REVEALED.  In beautiful and subtle ways the producers intertwined many biblical themes in the telling of the tale of Noah: the human longing for relationship with the Creator; an awareness of the human responsibility to the creation; the human struggle to discern God's will; God working in unexpected ways, providing what is needed.  The movie concluded with a message of hope, revealing the human capacity for love, mercy, and forgiveness as the screen filled with a rainbow.

RECOMMENDATION. I highly recommend this movie. It is difficult for me to think it was produced by an atheist in order to undermine faith.  Knowing this has been reported I had to think of Philippians 1:15-18. Regardless of the motive of the producers a message of hope was proclaimed, challenging us to embrace our God-given responsibility for the creation and seek a relationship with the Creator.
