No “I” in Team!

Reflecting on the Scriptures : NO “I” IN TEAM!

Nehemiah 8: 1-3, 5-6, 8-10. The worshipping community, recently released from exile, begins to rebuild Jerusalem but stands in reverence as God’s word is read and explained.

Luke 4:14-21. Centuries later Jesus stands in the worshipping community in his hometown to declare his personal responsibility to the poor, the captives, the blind and the oppressed as he is empowered by the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:12-31a. The Spirit’s work in the church (the worshipping community, the body of Christ in the world today) equips, empowers, and leads us into service in the world and urges us toward compassionate care for one another in the church—continuing the work Jesus began.

Psalm 19. God’s revelation is two-fold: in nature and through special revelation. Response is personal, but not individualistic! Our worship of God calls us into relationship. We become the worshipping community, hungry for the word of God.
